What is Gridlock?
At yesterday's post-election discussion here at the Sanford School, Frank Hill, former Chief of Staff of Senator Elizabeth Dole (R-NC) said that 'gridlock is good.' Then he went on to mention the positive aspects of divided government in which parties compromise and work together to address big problems. I wouldn't call that gridlock. To me, gridlock is when difficult problems are continually passed over while both parties users whatever advantages they have to bash the other....while problems get worse.
